A Few More Sips ☕ — Special Edition: After walking the 96mi West Highland Way during my sabbatical, I wanted to highlight Scotland's unique biotech ecosystem.
Loved reading this. Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities. The different levels of the city, the architecture, the view from the castle. I wish I could visit it again for a 3rd time. Have a lovely time at Scotland, Annicka.
Scotland is so beautiful! 😍 I walked the West Highland Way and the Arran Coastal Way several years ago and I'd love to go back. Enjoy the rest of your time there!
I will have to look into the Arran Coastal Way! I absolutely loved the long walk. This was my second time to Scotland (first trip inspired coming back to do the WHW), but first days-long walk!
Arran is incredible! It's often described as "Scotland in miniature" because there's more variety in scenery than the WHW. It's not as crowded either! The only downside is there are brief stretches when you're on the road instead of a walking trail (this also party depends on the tides, as some parts of the trail aren't accessible at high tide). But overall I'd highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed this, Annicka. I spent nearly two years in Glasgow at Strathclyde working on my MS in Biomedical Engineering, so it was exciting to see Scotland’s biotech scene gaining recognition beyond the typical headlines. Despite its size, the country has a significant amount of serious scientific research and translation happening. Thanks for the pictures, too; they brought back memories.

Thank you so much! I love that you also appreciate Edinburgh. It’s a lovely country. I would love to visit for a 3rd time too.
