About The Biotech Tea ☕
The Biotech Tea sits somewhere between a newsletter and a textbook. Every issue covers what's happening in biotech — the breakthroughs, the policy shifts, the technology, the human side — but it also teaches you the science behind it. Original figures, contextualized definitions, and concepts that build week over week mean you don't just stay informed, you actually get smarter about the space over time.
Cadence: Thursday mornings.
Structure: 5 sections (free!) covering a big story, research, policy, tech, & people.
‘The Tea’ is the most important thing you need to know.
‘A few more sips’ is more detail if you’re interested.
Fit-for-purpose graphics (many that I make - scroll down for some examples)
Paid: The Biotech Term of the Week is where I break down one concept you’ll encounter again and again in biotech. Seeing it here makes it become clearer, more intuitive, and easier for you to speak about with confidence.
A Few More Sips: I will occasionally deliver off-cadence posts where I’ll group together related biotech concepts or expand on technologies we’ve covered in The Tea. These posts may be paid or free depending on what they build off of.
Using this for work?
Some readers have their subscription covered through professional development budgets. If helpful, I’ve included a short email template you can use to request reimbursement.
Who is writing The Biotech Tea? My name is Annicka, and I am a Bioengineering PhD, industry biotech scientist, science communicator, and data-visualization enthusiast. Through this newsletter I hope to provide you a look into relevant science, biotech, and public health updates through my lens. I’d love it if you’d say hi!
